JOB POSTINGS

Well Inspector
Location: Eagan, MN
Reports to: General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role
McCarthy Well Company is seeking a detail-oriented Well Inspector to evaluate the condition, safety, and compliance of residential, agricultural, and commercial water wells and pump systems. The Inspector plays a critical role in protecting water quality and ensuring wells meet state and local regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate contact with existing customers to proactively setup on-site well inspections
  • Conduct on-site inspections of new and existing wells, including casing, wellhead, pump systems, and pressure tanks
  • Test water quality (flow rate, pressure, contamination indicators) and document results
  • Identify code violations, structural issues, contamination risks, or equipment failures
  • Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports for customers, real estate transactions, and regulatory agencies
  • Prepare a quote for the customer if maintenance or repair is needed
  • Verify well construction and repairs comply with state/county well codes and permits
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to customers, contractors, and the General Manager
  • Maintain inspection equipment and calibrate testing tools as needed
  • Stay current on state well regulations, water quality standards, and industry best practices

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in well drilling, pump service, plumbing, or water quality inspection preferred
  • Working knowledge of well construction, pump systems, and groundwater basics
  • Strong attention to detail and report-writing skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to job sites Physical

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined or below-grade spaces
  • Comfortable working near mechanical equipment and in rural/field settings

Well Repair Technician / Worker
Location: Eagan, MN
Reports to: General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role
McCarthy Well Company is hiring a hands-on Well Repair Technician to diagnose and repair residential, agricultural, and commercial water well systems. This role involves fieldwork servicing pumps, pressure systems, well casings, and related equipment to keep customers' water systems running reliably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose issues with well pumps, pressure tanks, wiring, and water systems
  • Repair or replace submersible pumps, jet pumps, pressure switches, control boxes, and piping
  • Perform well cleaning, redevelopment, and casing repairs as needed
  • Operate drilling, pulling, and repair equipment safely and effectively
  • Test water flow, pressure, and system performance after repairs
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate work performed to customers
  • Follow all safety protocols and state well construction/repair codes
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working order
  • Respond to emergency service calls (e.g., loss of water, pump failure) as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in well service, pump repair, plumbing, or a related mechanical trade preferred; on- the-job training available for the right candidate
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, mechanical systems, and hand/power tools
  • Well driller/pump installer license or willingness to obtain one, per state requirements
  • Valid driver's license; CDL a plus
  • Ability to work independently and manage time in the field

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 75+ lbs, operate heavy equipment, and work in outdoor/rural conditions
  • Comfortable working at heights, in trenches, and in confined spaces
  • Availability for on-call/emergency service as needed

General Manager
Location: Eagan, MN

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role
McCarthy Well Company is looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee daily operations, drive business performance, and lead a team of field technicians, inspectors, and hiring. This role owns operational execution, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and team development across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across field service crew and inspections
  • Manage scheduling and job prioritization to maximize efficiency and customer response times
  • Create quotes and invoices
  • Own P&L responsibility: budgeting, cost control, pricing, and revenue growth
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate field and office staff
  • Ensure compliance with state well codes, safety regulations (OSHA), and environmental standards
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies
  • Monitor job quality, customer satisfaction, and resolve escalated service issues
  • Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, and vendor relationships
  • Develop and execute strategies for business growth and operational improvement
  • Report on company performance, KPIs, and operational metrics to ownership

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of operations or management experience, ideally in well drilling, water systems, construction, plumbing, or a related trade
  • Proven experience managing P&L, budgets, and teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with well/pump systems and state regulatory requirements
  • Experience with scheduling/dispatch software and basic financial reporting tools
  • Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based with regular travel to job sites; some physical activity when visiting field locations
